At last, my latest book is nearing the finishing line. It’s still a little way off, but I’m certain I can see a black and white flag somewhere in the distance. The book is a sequel to Bonfire. It picks up straight after with Hayes checking out a routine intelligence report in Istanbul on the personal behest of the Chief of SIS. It doesn’t take long before “routine” becomes “anything but routine” and Hayes, anguished by the events in Libya and harbouring suicidal thoughts, finds himself thrown headfirst into a battle against a jihadi group with tentacles that stretch from northern Iraq all the way to Britain. Can he stop a deadly attack while at the same time fighting to overcome his private demons? Hopefully, it won’t be too long before we find out.
